Use your school funds for na8ve

If your student is enrolled in a California public charter or independent-study program, you likely have an annual instructional allotment — commonly somewhere between $1,500 and $3,200 per student — for secular curriculum and educational software. A na8ve subscription can be purchased with those funds once your charter adds na8ve to its approved-vendor list.

That approval is your school’s decision, and every charter runs its own process — we can’t promise the outcome. What we can do is make our side fast: send us the packet and you’ll have it back, complete, right away. Below is exactly how families start it.

How it works

1. Ask your EF

Charter schools rarely take vendor applications straight from a company — the request has to come from an enrolled family. Send your Educational Facilitator one of the emails below.

2. The school sends us the packet

Your charter emails its vendor application to vendors@na8ve.ai. We return the completed paperwork — usually within one business day.

3. The school issues a Purchase Order

Once na8ve is on the approved-vendor list, your EF authorizes the subscription against your student's instructional funds and the business office issues a P.O.

4. We unlock your studio

When the P.O. arrives we activate your account and invoice the school directly. You aren't out of pocket and you don't wait for the school's payment cycle.

Pick whichever fits your student, copy it, fill in the brackets, and send it to your EF. This is the step that starts everything — a charter will take a vendor request from you long before it takes one from us.

General enrichment & STEM

Your student will use na8ve for coding, science, or general interactive learning.

For [Student Name]'s tech and science block this semester, I would like to use an interactive software program called na8ve (na8ve.ai). It provides customized, interactive Story Expeditions and coding practice, and it has pedagogical guardrails that act like a tutor rather than just giving answers.

I checked the vendor portal, and it looks like they aren't an approved vendor for our charter yet. Could you please send them a vendor application packet so we can use our instructional funds for a subscription?

Thanks for the update. I understand the vendor department might be busy, but since na8ve is a remote software subscription and doesn't involve any in-person or unsupervised contact with students, their onboarding is usually quick — a W-9 and a non-sectarian agreement.

It is the curriculum tool [Student Name] needs right now for their [Subject] goals. Is there a way we can submit a one-off Purchase Order, or get an exception for digital curriculum?

Questions families ask

Do I pay and get reimbursed?

No. Once the school issues a Purchase Order we invoice the school directly and activate your studio then — you don’t front the cost or wait on their payment cycle.

My charter says na8ve isn’t on their vendor list.

That’s the normal starting point — it’s what the first email above is for. Vendor lists grow when a family asks. Send the request, and have your EF send the packet to vendors@na8ve.ai.

Is na8ve secular?

Yes, and we sign a non-sectarian declaration saying so. Public funds can’t be spent on religious curriculum, so charters ask every vendor this.

Does my student have to leave their charter?

Not at all. na8ve is a teaching-software subscription you use at home, not school enrollment — your student stays enrolled exactly as they are.

Can I start now and sort out funding later?

Yes. The free trial needs no card, and vendor approval can take a few weeks. Many families start the trial while their EF works the request — and being able to tell your EF what your student actually did in na8ve makes the request stronger.
